In this post, we will discuss with you the SBI Clerk Cut off of previous years, so that you have an idea of scoring the minimum marks, in the Written Exam. But with Interviews abolished from this years, Your marks in the written marks will be only factor for determining the Merit. So, its very important, that know the terminology associated with the cut off.
What is sectional cut-off?
Sectional cut-off is the minimum number you need to score in each subject to pass the basic cut-off in each subject. Note that every year there is different cut-off for every state; it depends on the number of seats allotted to the state and how the students have attempted. There is different cut-off for different categories. I will quote an example- in school we had to secure 35 out of 100 to pass in a subject this is sectional cutoff.
What is total cut-off?
Just to clear the sectional cut-off is not enough your total score matters too. You have to have clear both sectional and total cut-off to reach the next level of exam. Total cut-off also changes every year and vice-versa. E.g After securing 35/100 in subject to secure distinction you need to have 75% marks, this 75% is total cut-off.
What is state-wise cut-off?
After the concept of sectional cut-off and total cut-off the next thing you need to know about the SBI Clerk exam is there is different cut-off and sectional cut-off for different states. The state cut-off is totally dependent on the number of posts reserved for that state and attempt of the aspirants
Why should I be concerned about cut off?
You must have heard about the infamous quotation ‘little knowledge is very dangerous’, so keep this quotation in mind and think you are sitting in the examination hall attempting your exam with no aim of how much you need to secure. So these are the few reality check
Few aspirants think that cut-off has nothing to do with preparation, of-course it is not going to fix your seat in the bank but an aim in mind regarding your sub-total will surely help you. Thank me latter for this.
All you need to know about the pattern of selection cut-off and sectional cut-off:
Previously the marking pattern was divided into three levels.

Subjects: Quantitative

General awareness
Computer
3) Personal interview: After successfully clearing previous two rounds you have to clear 3rd and final round that is personal interview. But according to the guidelines of Government off India there will be no interview for clerical and equivalent posts, but unlike IBPS, SBI has not made any official announcement as yet. But we are sure that there will be only two levels that are Preliminary and Mains.
So, that means, Only Mark obtained in the MAIN Exam, will be the deciding factor, whether or not you will be selection. To know more on this, Read our post on SBI Clerk Syllabus and Exam Pattern
